A 61-year-old woman said that she was fed up with being manhandled by security screeners at airports but denied that she gave a female agent in Phoenix, US, a pat-down of her own.
Yukari Mihamae was arrested after allegedly groping and squeezing the agent’s breast at Phoenix Airport on Thursday, the New York Post reported.
“I go through [security] every week, and every week there is some problem,” she told KDVR, denying the charges.
She is accused of grabbing the agent’s “left breast through her clothing and squeezing and twisting it with both hands without the victim’s permission”.
She was arrested on charges of sexual assault and held briefly in a local jail.
The US Department of Homeland Security has defended the arrest.
“The agency will not tolerate assaults against its workforce,” a spokesperson said.
A source denied that a TSA officer patted down Mihamae.
